Service Pack 4 Installation

Our company has decided to install Service Pack 4 finally and I'm wondering if there are any issues still with the installation of SP4?

I've read a multitude of articles where people run into difficulties with the installation, whether they don't have previous service packs, a registery setting needs added, a backup job drops, etc..

If we were to install it this weekend. Would we just follow the technotes regarding it and not expect any problems?

  • Hello Chris,

There are no longer any problems with the installation of SP4. The modified SP 4a can safely be installed from the link below:

  • I plan on using the installation method found in the article

The reason I need to know is that our server is constantly being used so having to restart it is a huge ordeal. Also, as our information is highly critical to the operations of the organization, backups are a must.
  • I performed the install with no issues. Thx for taking the time to answer my question.
