Storage Lifecycle Management with NetBackup 10

Hi Friends,

I wanted to share some more exciting features of NetBackup 10!

NetBackup has long supported the concept of Storage Lifecycle Management by placing less accessed data on longer term storage to assist in long term retention costs.  Adopting a similar approach to cloud, NetBackup supports multiple storage tiers on cloud, and supports storage lifecycle policy (SLP) management of backup copies going from one tier (hot for example) to another tier (Glacier for example).

Storage Lifecycle Management is super simple to setup in NetBackup by navigating to Protection > Protection plans in the WebUI.

Here you can decide if you want the cloud vendor snapshot copy and a backup, just the snapshot or just the backup copy.  Plus you can even create another backup copy for long term storage.

Selecting the cloud vendor is super simple as well, it's just a click away when creating Protection Plans.
