Netbackup catalog big and no change in catalog size after compression activated

    Sorry to be late. image db files seems not being compressed.

    Do you run any script like reporting that refers contents of each backup images, or daily operation that looks into backup contents? Each time someone looks into contents of backup image NetBackup uncompress image db files related to the request.

    For confirmation, please tell us what value you set to Compress Catalog Interval.

    Any chance your system does not have compress command in it. Accoring to the statement in Administrator's Guile Volume I, NetBackup uses compress command to compress db files.
