Windows 10? New software update for Symantec System Recovery 2013 Desktop Edition?
I am currently using Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2 with my Windows 8.1 based desktop PC. I am planning on upgrading to Windows 10 on July 29, 2015 when Windows 10 is released. I've been relying on Norton Ghost and SSR 2013 to do full system images for years. Is Symantec currently working on software for Symantec System Recovery 2013 so that it will be compatible with Windows 10? Will Symantec be offering a FREE update patch to Symantec System Recovery 2013 that will make it compatible with Windows 10? Will it be called Symantec System Recovery 2013 R3 or something else like Symantec System Recovery 2015? I would like to see SSR 2013 tested and certified as compatible with Windows 10 as soon as possible. I would prefer not to have switch to another vendor's system image backup software like Acronis. Their website is saying that you can get a free software update for Windows 10 compatibility for Acronis True Image 2015.34KViews12likes385CommentsCan I upgrade from BESR 2010 9.0.2.37914 to BESR 2013 R2 11.1.2.54477??

Hi I've hit a problem involving SIM, that I hope someone can help me with. I attempted to update the serverto the latest version of Symantec Management Platform, SP2, unfortunately it went wrong with the validation stage when it tried to install after downloading. Subsequently I ran a rebuild on my installed copy of Symantec Management Platform. Which also initially went wrong but has since run without error. My problem is now the SIM tool isno longer showing anything under the "View and Install Updates" and so I am unable to upgrade to the latest version of Symantec Management Platform. I believe the downloaded installation file that SIM would have initially downloaded is still present on the server. Is there a way to run the upgrade without using SIM? I hope this makes sense. Many Thanks.1.2KViews9likes7Comments* Now Released * Symantec System Recovery 2013

I need to do a P2V migration of a SBS 2003 to a VMware ESXi 5.x. We have Symantec System Recovery 2011 installed on the SBS. What's the best way of doing this: Hotclone Run a System Recovery backup (creates a .sv2i and .v2i images) Use System Recovery to restore the .sv2i to the ESXi host OR... Use VMware Converter to convert the .sv2i to the ESXi host Coldclone (is this even possible to an ESXi 5.x?) Boot off supplied Symantec Recovery CD Run backup direct to the ESXi host Is there a preferred method? Any other tips (i.e. hot vs cold clone)? Anything I should watch out for (i.e. DC, Exchange DB)? Many thanks.Solved1.8KViews7likes9Commentsveritas system recovery for windows 10
Has Symantec or Veritas released a Windows 10 version of SSR and I miss the notice? If not does anyone know a schedule date? I want to upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10 because some people say 10 is faster, but I will not until I have a good backup that I know will work without problems.551Views6likes2CommentsSreEula.exe - System Error when booting 2013 R2 SRD
Hi all. I have had a support ticket open on this now for almost two weeks, with no luck. I have 2 issues. Dell Poweredge T420. Intel Xeon E5-2450 2.1. 16GB RAM. Windows Server 2012 R2 Std. System Recover 2013 R2 w/ current MS ADK installed. All Windows updates installed, and Live update ran. 1. When trying to create a "Typical" SRD, I am only offered "German" as a language selection. 2. More imporant issue: I cannot boot the Advanced 64-bit SRD after seemingly successfully creating it in English. Booting starts out fine. Blue Windows logo...white spinning in process icon. I get the symantec boxes for loading drivers, checking system requirements, network confguration, but then I get an error box titled: "SreEula.exe - System Error" . The message is: "The program can't start because oledlg.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem". I have tried repairing, uninstallling and re-installing the software multiple times, but always get the same error. I haven't gotten anywhere with tech support. Anyone with any ideas??
