I upgraded from 8.02 to 8.5 on 10/08. The upgrade went well and I don't recall if I had to reboot. I don't believe it prompted me to.
I run a before and after script which apparently was returning a errorlevel of 2 which caused the new
version to fail on that. This is the same script I was using with 8.02 that worked fine. It appears that
maybe this was a bug and is now fixed. I just modified my script to do a "set errorlevel=0" for now to
get around that.
This was the error message for that:
Date: 10/8/2008 21:20:12 PM
Notification Type: Error
Priority: High
Description: Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Drive Backup of OS (C:\), Data (D:\), Exchange (E:\), Backup & Apps (F:\). Error E0BB009C: External command "C:\Admin\Scripts\v2iBackup_after_data_capture.cmd" returned an error. Error EBAB03F1: The system cannot find the file specified.
Details: 0xE0BB009C
Out of 11 backups I have had only one fail with a different message than I have seen before:
Date: 10/16/2008 21:18:09 PM
Notification Type: Error
Priority: High
Description: Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Drive Backup of OS (C:\), Data (D:\), Exchange (E:\), Backup & Apps (F:\). Error EBAB03E9: Internal Application Error: Memory Access Violation c0000005: Application tried to read memory at 05d6f000.
Details: 0xEBAB03E9
The next scheduled backup on the following day ran just fine. Prior to the upgrade I was starting to fail
2 out of 3 backups. Typically a reboot of the server would make it better for a few days, then it would
start to act up again.
So for other than the after.cmd issue I haven't noticed anything different/strange about the new version
and it definitely seems to be working better for me. I did talk with Technical Support and they said that
8.5 was a pretty major rewrite of the software.
Hope that helps.
