Unable to connect to Netbackup host
Hello. I have a 2012 Server with Netbackup 8 and a 2003 Server client with netbackup 7.6.1. When I try to create a policy and add the content to make the backup, the message always appears: "Unable to connect to Netbackup host" I have tried almost everything.Add the corresponding entries in the different hosts files.Do a port scan.Test with different users. ...and nothing works. When mounting the agents from the server console the process does it correctly but then on the machine with windows 2003, the service is not started and therefore does not contact the console properly. Hi All, Our current Netbackup master server is at Windows Server 2003 -32 bit. Netbackup version is 7.0.1 We have a plan to upgrade the master server to Netbackup 8.1 Considering the compatibilities, we have thought of the following steps: 1)First upgrade the Netbackup version to 7.5. 2)Take catalog backup. 3)Install fresh Windows Server 2008 -64 bit on the same server. 4)Install Netbackup 7.5 on the 2008 OS. 5)Do full catalog recovery to the server. 6)Upgrade netbackup to 7.7/8.0. 7)Upgrade OS to server 2012 8)Upgrade Netbackup from 7.7/8.0 to 8.1 Please advise whether Netbackup 7.5 is supported on Windows 2003- 32 bit, as the first step we plan to do is to upgrade netbackup to 7.5. Dear All, I add new unix client on the NBU console, and test the backup, but the client hostname could not be found (48), then I already add the host name on the media server, master server, run the bptestbpcd -client hostname -verbose -debug, with the exit code = 0 then run the backup for testing, but still to get the error code 48. Hi, I'm unable to install agent remotely nor directly on Windows 2003 R2 server. We have Windows 2003 R2 64-bit server . It is currently installed with BackupExec for its daily backup. I am trying to install NBU client version 7.6.1 over it .So my plan is to install the client on it,then configure the backup for it and if successfull uninstall the BackupExec permanently. But my NBU client 7.6.1 installation rolls back and fails with the below error. Action ended : InstallExecute.Return value 3 Could not retrieve CustomActionData MSI property.Returning with error Could not open the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Veritas\VxMS registry key Action ended:INSTALL.Return value 3 We have also rebooted the server and then tried installing but no luck and same failure. Unregistered and reregistered the Windows Installer. Stopped backup exec services and then tried installing nbu client but same behaviour. Please advice what can I try next. Hi All, I hope somebody can help me. I have a HP autoloader 4048 that had 2 * internal LTO4 drives. We replaced the 2 drives with LTO5 drives. In backup exec 2010D/device manager I can see the drives ok and have added them to device pool , one will run a backup/restore but the 2nd one just stays in a queued state.
