Windows 10? New software update for Symantec System Recovery 2013 Desktop Edition?
I am currently using Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2 with my Windows 8.1 based desktop PC. I am planning on upgrading to Windows 10 on July 29, 2015 when Windows 10 is released. I've been relying on Norton Ghost and SSR 2013 to do full system images for years. Is Symantec currently working on software for Symantec System Recovery 2013 so that it will be compatible with Windows 10? Will Symantec be offering a FREE update patch to Symantec System Recovery 2013 that will make it compatible with Windows 10? Will it be called Symantec System Recovery 2013 R3 or something else like Symantec System Recovery 2015? I would like to see SSR 2013 tested and certified as compatible with Windows 10 as soon as possible. I would prefer not to have switch to another vendor's system image backup software like Acronis. Their website is saying that you can get a free software update for Windows 10 compatibility for Acronis True Image 2015.34KViews12likes385CommentsRequired some inputs for VCS functions...
As we are in phase to built a DR project for Enterprise Vault. We have some quries for the same... 1) Once the data is replicated to DR, is there any way in VCS to check for integrity of the replicated data? 2) Copying vault store partitions to new storage would be a time consuming task since the size of the partitions and the number of files is huge. What would be the best practice method recommended by Symantec for copying this data in order to improve efficiency and also minimize risk of data loss. 3) Once the solution is deployed, is it possible to revert back to windows format storage from Symantec format with minimal data loss? Hi, I am trying to determine what precisely some of my DI reports are telling me. Specifically, related to the Access details report, it is my understanding that SharePoint audit logsdifferentiate between a "view" (e.g.,going to a site or a library) and a "read" (e.g.,opening an item on a site or a library), but it does not appear that DI access reports maintain that distinction- everything appears to be a "read". So the question is: does DI differentiate between "view" and "read" events in SharePoint (2010). If so, can we create a report that shows who has accessed a SharePoint site, but not read anything? Thanks.2.7KViews4likes1CommentLocal Intranet Zones w Outlook Anywhere
EV 11.01 Windows 8.1, IE11, Outlook 2013 I have some end users who have the EV Servers in their Local IntranetSites as per the EV Policy. The problem is that with the EV servers. (Alias, Alias FQDN and Hostname) in the Local Intranet Sites, they are unable to reach the EV Search Page in Outlook. When I remove the EV Server from theLocal IntranetSites and add them to Trusted Sites, it works fine. Any guidance? Thanks!Solved686Views4likes2Comments- 843Views4likes3Comments

Symantec software development employees for "Symantec System Recovery 2013 Desktop Edition": I have SSR 2013 Desktop Edition version 11.0.1.47622 right now. I am upgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1. I much prefer to have system image backup/restore software (like SSR 2013 Desktop Edition) as an insurance policy at all times. Unlike with Windows 8, I understand that SSR 2013 Desktop Edition will NOT work with Windows 8.1. When you try to restore a partition using the System Recovery DVD disc it fails. I wasn't too pleased to hear about this at all. I have read on the internet that Windows 8.1 was not reallya major OS update. Is Symantec going to provide a new version of SSR 2013 Desktop Edition (like 11.0.2.XXXXX) in the next week or so that fully supports Windows 8.1 partition backups/restores? That would be awesome if Symantec could do this. In order to backup/restore Windows 8.1 partitions, is Symantec going to make all the SSR 2013 Desktop Edition customers wait several months and have to pay for a new version like SSR 2014 Desktop Edition? I need to know what is being done by the software developers. If I have to wait several months then I guess I'll have to shop around for new system image backup/restore software like Acronis True Image. I've been using Symantec system image software for years so I'd prefer to not have to start using another company's product.4.3KViews3likes14Comments
