Enterprise Vault Search icons not displayed in Internet Explorer or Outlook.

Hello together,

a customer have the problem described in this technote.
https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US/article.100047794

He cant disable the "Block untrusted fonts" setting via GPO due internal districtions.
Also this setting is a recommendation from microsoft.

Is it possible to configure another font for the websearch?
Or is it possible to install the WOFF font used for the websearch on clients manually?
Is EV 14 using the Edge browser as standard browser?

The fonts are from this toolkit:
https://fontawesome.com

Kind regards,

Lucas

  • Hi Lucas

Enterprise Vault search is an intranet site so as recommended by MS it should be fine to create a GPO to allow the fonts to be downloaded. Please see below my response to your queries.

Is it possible to configure another font for the websearch?

Amol >> Sorry that is not possible.

Or is it possible to install the WOFF font used for the websearch on clients manually?

Amol >> I am sure it will not work out of the box.

Is EV 14 using the Edge browser as standard browser?

Amol >> Enterprise Vault supports all the modern browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge when you launch EV search in a standalone browser. However when launched within Outlook, EV search will use Internet Explorer as IE is the default browser within Outlook integrated mode.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you need more information

    Regards Amol
