Index error

Hi
am geeting following error for 4 mail boxes can any one help me to fix this

I tried repair index
rebuild index

can any one help me on this

A low level indexing operation has failed
Error: a severe error occurred; cannot continue [AV:63]
Index Id: 19447AE4E45F4DC4E940CA478BC29C9BD1110000EVSite/Volume:6281 (alex.a)


Abnormal error occurred

    HI

    Have you tried rebuilding the index and also updating the index ? do you get the same result ? is there enough free space in the index location ?

    Have you followed/seen  this technote http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/280922.htm

    Have you tried rebuilding the index and also updating the index ? do you get the same result ? is there enough free space in the index location ?

    I tried repair and rebuild indexing still I have a problem apparently we have enough space for indexing

    1. The index volume has been marked as failed.

    this is happening only for 4 mail boxes we have 1000 mail boxes
