Index service stops after starting

Hi

Anyone else experienced this message while trying to start the stopped Indexing service:

"The Enterprise Vault Indexing Service service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs."

Tried to reboot the whole server but that didn't do anything... There have been some win updates 2 days ago - is it possible that something from that could cause this kind of behavior?

 

EV version 10.0.4 CHF3 on a Win server 2008 R2 standard.

 

It has worked years without complaining and now this happened...

    Never mind...

    Every time I tried starting the indexing service it looks like it has produced an event 41293 and there is an easy fix for that http://www.veritas.com/docs/000018536.

    I would suggest trying a DTRACE, see if that gives you any more ideas...

    There is another thread that suggests this in a similar situation: http://www.veritas.com/docs/000064703

    In that article it says to first remove any hotfixes that might have affected the index service - is the CHF3 package such an update and need to be uninstalled and reinstalled before running the Indexing Redistributable?
