Lots of archived items waiting to be indexed
There is a message in the event log that there are 167557 archived items in Vault store that are
waiting to be indexed. What causes this and how would I fix the problem?
There are many reasons, some of which are below:-
No open Index locations (Different to Backup Mode)
Indexing Service not running
Index locations in backup mode - Checked and confirmed to be out of backup mode
Problems with the index location/s
Problems with the item/s to be indexed
Problems with the Index Volume/s themselves (1 or more failed/offline etc)
Honestly could be any number of things, have a quick look here to begin with - http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH50268 - I would open a case with support so that it can be investigated properly and corrected, that is ofcourse if you are unable to sort it yourself.
