    Well if you can't extend the drives, and you can't move to a different storage on the network, theres not much you can do except for starting expiry.

    What is the legal requirement for EV? how long are you expected to keep data for ? forever? 7 years? etc
    If you have long sets of retention and large amounts of people being enabled, theres not much you can do except for scope out your environment.

    Typically if you have the architecture and the install done by symantec or a symantec partner, you should have had a design document discussing how much storage was required based on the amount of users, projected growth, how long you wanted to keep the data for etc.

When you close an Index location in EV 9 it will continue to write to existing Indexes but no new Indexes will be created.

Hopefully you have several Index location folders, default is to have 8, so what you can do is move some of these locations to a new drive leaving half in the original location and freeing up a bunch of space there.

In EV 10 when you close an Index location it actually stops writing to it, similar to how Vault Store Partitions work.  That makes that aspect easier to manage.
