Can't delete NetBackup Storage Server

Hi,

We have installed 2 x 32 To N5000 in V1.2 in 2 NetBackup Domains

First has an AIX 5.3 Master Server

Second has a Solaris 10 Master Server

Both have NetBackup 7.1

Then we have tried to integrate it in NetBackup (using the Storage Server wizard) by selecting PureDisk Deduplication pool, the FQDN Appliance,the Master as media Server and correct credentials.

We have got a status error 25 cannot connect on socket on the 2 domains.

No Disk pool have been created but both Storage Servers appear now in the NetBackup GUI and we can't modify or delete them.

If we tried to recreate them, NBU tells us they already exist.

How can we delete them to recreate them with 2 x new Suse 10 Media Servers in NBU 7.1?

    The problem has been solved by the Symantec support

    They have manually deleted the bad entries from the EMM database with a script.

    Hi,

     

    Just use nbemmcmd -deletehost -machinename "server name" -machinetype ndmp to delete the storage server first.

     

    Then try the wizard again

    Hi,

    Thanks for your answer and I've done this before.

    It seems to work (the Storage Server doesn't appear in NBU GUI) but after the command execution I've get the message :

    The function returned the following failure status:

    EMM database error (196)
     

    What do you think about it?

    and when I use the nbemmcmd -listhosts -verbose again, the old storage server still exists

    please post the contents of the command and result from CMD

     

    and do a nbdb_ping as well to see if the EMM DB is up

    nbdevconfig -deletests -storage_server test.toto.titi.fr -stype PureDisk
