SSR 2013 - Using command line to run a remote backup

Hello,

We are migrating to Win7 from XP we can use the backup policies to run backups at scheduled times though what we would like to do is create a job in Deployment Console to run a script immediately on the PC's we plan to migrate that day.  Has anyone tried this or know if using command line is possible to run a remote backup?

  • One idea from my side: You could use a VB or powershell to kick off the job on the client.

  • Hello just wanted to check back and see if there were any other possible solutions to this?

  • Hello Markus and Chris,

I appreciate your responses yes we do have the SSR Management Solution and do use it for backups though there is a lot of lag when clicking on one option to the next for example selecting a task and waiting for the task options to come up on the right of the page can take 10-20 seconds.  Navagating through out the solution we have this issue.  So that is why we were trying to use the  Depolyment Console as it responds much faster for us.
