Hello,
What is the difference between BackupExec 11d 32bit vs 64bit?
I need to backup: windows 2K /2003 fileservers, SQL2000/2005, TFS server, all running 32bit.
Do I need to purchase the 64bit?
Do I gain performance by using the 64bit version?
Are there any issues/problems using the 64bit version, and backing up 32bit systems?
Are the agent’s 32/64bit dependency?
Can I backup 64bit systems with the BackupExec 32bit version?
In the future we will have Exchange2007
Thanks,

Hope this answers your questions -
What is the difference between BackupExec 11d 32bit vs 64bit?
Each one was written for a specfic architecture/hardware
I need to backup: windows 2K /2003 fileservers, SQL2000/2005, TFS server, all running 32bit.
Do I need to purchase the 64bit?
No
Do I gain performance by using the 64bit version?
That depends on whether the software was coded to take advantage of the 64 bit architecture
Are there any issues/problems using the 64bit version, and backing up 32bit systems?
Not known to date - most scenarios are the other way around (32 bit BE backing up 64 bit systems)
Are the agent’s 32/64bit dependency?
Not sure what you mean - you can't run a 64 bit agent on a 32 bit machine
Can I backup 64bit systems with the BackupExec 32bit version?
Yes - simply install the appropriate 64 bit Remote Agent on the 64 bit system
In the future we will have Exchange2007
This is forcing a lot of IT people to move on to 64 bit Operating Systems
A couple things to keep in mind when you go to E2K7
-- You need Backup Exec 11.0 build 7170 (build 6235 will not work)
-- Exchange Server MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects (MAPI/CDO) needs to be updated
