2003 x64 Server SP2 and XP Pro x64 SP2 problems with BE 11D

I am having a problem in XP Pro x64 SP2 with 7170.  It broke SQLXMLX.DLL properly opening the Job History.   Who else is having issues since upgrading to SP2 on 64-bit versions of 2003 and XP Pro x64?   Has Symantec seen any issues?  I have not seen any listed in the support area.

Michael,

I have spent a chunk of today researching this issue, bot by cross-checking opened cases within Backup Exec Technical Support, and with our engineering staff. We are not currently seeing this issue, but as both 7170 build, and the Win2003 SP2 releases are fairly new, this may be an up-and-coming issue to be addressed.

Previous issues involving the sqlxmlx.dll on 32-bit systems were usually found to be resolved just by un-registering and reregistering the dll. Have you tested this yet in the 64-bit environment?

SQLXLML.DLL was updated with SP2.   When I was running SP2 with 6235, it worked fine.  I could see the job history.   I upgraded to 7170 after a backup.   This is when SQLXMLX.DLL failed.

x64 uses the AMD64 folder.  Could it be the mismatch?

I tried unregister and reregistering it.  Did not work.

Good morning Michael,

It's possible that this could be a mismatch, but we'd need to see some diagnostics from this system. Do you have a support contract, so you can open a case for this issue? That way, we can get system diagnostics from that server in-house, if anything needs to go up to engineering.

Yes I do.   I opened a call on Saturday 3/31 around 9:30am.   They said 8 hour response.  I guess they did not say which 8 hours.  Mike W. e-mailed me 4/3 @ 1:43pm, they he took ownership in my case.     He did not call back last night at 6:30pm as requested.   If I gave this great service at work, I would be unemployed.    I am glad I only pay $150 a year for support on BE.   This is everytime I call support.   I switched to the forums to see if I could get a prompter response.

How can I run your system diagnostics so I can e-mail to Mike and post it for you to review.

I would hope BE 11D is 64-bit and should use the AMD64 (64-bit) folder instead of i386 (32-bit) folder for app extension support.

It is not a server.  It is my CAD workstation that I do various A/V and CAD projects on at home.   It is off, when I am at work for its protection.   It has its own dedicated 20A double pole circuit with a wall switch to kill the power to it.   It surpasses servers for benchmarking and performance.   Everything was custom installed.  The power supplies were customed configured and build just for the two chassis.    Each chassis has dedicated 20A @ 120V.  The double pole wall switch has 20A @ 120V on each side and one switch to kill it.   The breaker can also kill both chassis, if it pops off.   This protects the 8 drive RAID 10 array, which spans the two chassis.  The 6 drive RAID 10 array is in the second chassis.   I don't lose the arrays on power cuts.   Line Conditioners protect from power conditioning problems.
