A failure occurred accessing the Writer metadata

This is the final error I received after a backup job:

V-79-57344-65225- A failure occurred accessing the Writer metadata.

I did follow the link but did not find the solution. All the presented solutions showed a final error code. I did not get a final error code.

My media server: W2K3 R2 SE SP2  with Backup Exec 12.5 Rev 2213 SP4 32bit

The remote server: W2K8 R2 Standard SP 64 bit

Help please!

Thanks!

HF 331998 is before SP4 and already installed in your media server.

What is the exact version of BE remote agent on the target server?

Refer: How to check the version or status of the Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Servers.

I downloaded the file be2213R331998_32bit_334937.exe and installed it on the media server. The installation went through the normal process. But when I checked the installed updates, it is not on the list. Please see below:

Thanks!

Are you getting this error when backing up a specific component on this 2008 server

Like system state or system reserved partition  (http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH88165)

or are you not able to backup even a single file from C drive?

2. Try adding Be service account to "log on as a batch job" and/or "logon as service" rights on target computer

Hi

Please uninstall remote agent on target server from add removve programs & then install it back by doing push install as remote agent version should be 12.5.2213.169 or 175  in your case you have specifeid as 12.5.2213.nothing after it

Also you can install remote agent locally by copying the rawsx64 folder & MSXML folder to C drive of target server  by accessing C drive of Media server C-program files-symantec-backupexec-agents-

Then once copied open rawsx64 folder & run setupaa64.cmd which will intiate command prompt once it disappers. Please go to C-program files-symantec-backupexec-raws and check for beremote.exe verison that should be one of it as specified by me above 12.5.2213.169 or 175

Thanks
