Hello, we have just started to get the following error on an SBS2003 machine which has been backing up succesfully for about a year now.

The network connection to the Backup Exec Remote Agent has been lost. Please check for network errors.
A timeout occurred waiting for completion of media server data processing

The only technote that relates is http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/270467.htm. There are only 2 servers, and both have the standard windows remote agent installed

There have been no changes made to the server recentely.

Ive attached more info from the job log below, does anyone have any more ideas ?

Andrew,

It's a known issue for BEWS 9.1 4691. You may try to update the media server and Remote Agents with latest updates (SP3) but be aware that this is fixed in version 10.x .

Did you try to create separate backup jobs (appending to same tape) for each volume + VSS components? For me it worked as a workaround!

Hope this helps :)
