I'm hoping I can get some help here. Here's my situation:
We have a court order to recover email from 2002 and 2003. Those backups were taken with Backup Exec 8x, 8.6 more accurately, I think. Anyway, the server that was running backup exec no longer has that software installed on it. Also, I don't know if any catalog tapes exist. However, I do know that backup exec was running the 'Storage Exec' software. Additionally, there appears to be a SQL database on that old backup server with backup job data and such.
My question becomes this: Can I recover the catalog information from the backup exec environment using the SQL Server's data? What might be some other options on this matter? Any help is appreciated.
