Applying MS03-031 to a BackupExec box ok?

Or DB team decided to run a security check of our network and found one of our BE machines which has MSDE installed by BE. They would like the machine patched, and I just wanted to make sure no one had encountered any issues with it. I assume there shouldn't be any issues, but seeing as this is a Tier 1/Priority 1 system, I should prolly not take any chances. :)

Hi,

You can apply the MS03-031 patch to the MSDE instance of Backup Exec. Please refer to the following technotes as an additional reference:

- Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine instance "BKUPEXEC" may be lost during upgrade from VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.0 to 9.1.
