BE 8.5 Tape Problem

Feng
Level 3
 Hello,
First time I set a backup, ver 8.5 on a NW4.11 server, SP8a, I got an error: "Backup Execwas unable to make this tape bootable because the blocksize for this media is incorrect. Please be sure the blocksize is set to 2048."
What does this mean, is there a setting somewhere on the server console to set???  And it does appear the backup and verification ran successfully.  I'm confused.  Looking at the Tape Catalog, it appears all files were,in fact, backed up. Any idea please

Thanks
Feng

 Feng,
When Backup Exec is installed, by default, the setting for the bootable tape hardware is "Never".

To change this, goto Job Manager Screen:
On the Option menu, select Hardware, select bootable Tape.
Select "Only if bootable tape device is present" and save the change (F2).

Hope that helps

Andy
