Hi, I had to replace a failed HP DLT tape drive that we have used with BE 8.6, and have now purchased a Tandberg 420LTO. Windows seems to detect the Tandberg ok as it appears in the list of devices under the device manager. The entry in the removeable storage manager has a red circle over it, so there may be some issues still to resolve here.
I have tried to run a backup job using BE 8.6, but all I get is a "queued" job, it never starts. I have also tried to label the media in the drive and the label job also goes to "queued" state and never runs.
I do not know if I have omitted some configuration step that is causing this problem or if 8.6 does not support the Tandberg 420LTO.
In the BE device tab, the Tandberg appears and it has been configured with a cartridge type of "1/2 inch". There was no LTO (or more approrpriate) entry in the drop down list for this item. Is this correct?
Is anyone running LTO devices with 8.6. Can anyone offer any advice on the way forward.
