BE DATABASE ON SQL 2005

Hello. Does Backup Exec support running it's own database on SQL 2005? We have a 2005 server, and I'm having to use MSDE right now instead of the 2005 instance. When I try and run BEUTILITY to move the databse to a new location, it just quits on me.

Backup Exec is not compatible with SQL2005.

now my question:
how do I connect to SQL 2005 during the installation process, before I can supply the hotfix ?

Hello Jorg,

Backup Exec supports backups of SQL 2005 database. However we still dont support installation of backup Exec on a SQL 2005 instance.
Hotfix 6 will only enable the backups of SQL database.
