BE2010R3SP1 won't install on W2008R2SP1x64

Our client switched from Backup Exec to Barracuda a few years ago, and they haven't renewed their BE maintenance/support contract as a result. The old media server was later rebuilt with Windows 2008 R2 Standard x64 SP1 and BE was not installed. The latest physical media they have is BE 12.0, and they need the ability to recovery from the tapes previously written by BE.

I contacted customer support, and they sent me the serial number and the link to download the latest licensed version: http://trialware.norton.com/files/fc/Backup_Exec_2010_13.0_R3_SP1_MultiPlatforms_Multilingual_DVD.iso

The BE 2010|2010 R2|2010 R3 SCL states this OS is supported as a media server: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH137682

I downloaded and extracted the ISO (4,110,442,656 bytes or 3.82GB) to c:\installations\be2010 on the server. When attempting to run browser.exe, I receive this error:

----------

Error 193 loading DVD browser plugin c:\installations\be2010\bin\browserops.dll

%1 is not a valid Win32 application.

----------

If I try to manually run c:\installations\be2010\be\winnt\install\bex64\setup.exe, I receive this error:

----------

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.

----------

What's going on here, what am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Jim

Hi

http://trialware.norton.com/files/fc/Backup_Exec_2010_13.0.5204_MultiPlatforms_Multilingual_DVD.iso

Please download 3.47 gb single ISO file for BE2010 R3 and once done extract it is using winrar or use power ISO to mount it and then install it should work fine.

Hope that helps.

Thanks

I'm downloading the ISO from your link now, I'll report back.
