Backup Exec 10d and SQL 2005

Hi,

I have a friend with a problem backing up a sql2005 server. When the database server was installed with sql2000 he selected some data bases for backup. Later, he upgraded the server to sql 2005. The backup server continued making the backups correctly without any problem.

But last week, the tried to make changes to the selection list and there he can't see the databases. So he is making backups of the databases with the old selection list, but he can't change it.

The backup server uses Backup Exec 10d with sp3. Does he need to install some new patch or do you recommed just to reinstall the sql agent and make a new selection list?

Thank you very much.

 Hi,

Check the following link to see if the patch refered there is installed
seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/280204.htm
If the patch is installed, then re-install the agent on the server.
If the patch is not installed, install it and then re-install the agent to the server.

Hope that helps,

After Applying the patch 280204
reboot the machine, reinstall the agent on the sql2005 server,
i still can not choose the sql object within
the selection list i. get the

"An error was encounterded while attempting to browse the content of servername
A network connection could not be established"
also, the size and the version of bedssql2.dll file
does not  match what is says in the  patch document

Any Help will be most appriciated

I'd try uninstalling the RA, booting and re-installing.  if the DLL size and date do not match the documentation, sounds like the HF/SP did not apply correctly
