Backup Exec 2010 R2 Drive

Good day.

I have a question about BackupExec 2010 R2.

I deleted User mode driver which was under “Kernel mode driver” because it did not work after windows update.

And I cannot find how to create User mode driver.

It was under All Device.

Would you please help me how to create the backup drive?

In BE 2010 I think TAPEINST.EXE may put it back (not 100% sure as a very old version)

I tried, but It did not work.

The User Mode drivers are not visible in Windows Device Manager and I didn't think that you could delete them unless you deleted files.

You may want to run thru this technote below in particular

httpshttps://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000026013

Disable/Delete the Device in the Backup Exec console.

Then disable/delete it in Windows and go thru the  process of deleting the Orphan/Hidden devices.

Reboot and Run Tapeinst.exe

There is a registry key in this article you can try workaround  around that may help in this article.

This all Assumes the hardware is detected properly by the OS.
