Backup Exec 2010 and Exchange 2010 = 0xe0000383

Can anyone help with the following:

We cannot get Backup Exec 2010 to back up some of our Exchange environments. The jobs that fail are

Final error: 0xe0000383 - Failed to log on to Microsoft Windows. Ensure that your logon credentials are correctly entered and that they meet the following minimum requirements to log on to a Windows computer: - The credentials used are a member of the Backup Operators group. - For Windows Vista/2008 and later, the credentials have the Log on as a batch job privilege.

This is very frustrating as all of the permissions appear to be correct.

We have created several backup service accounts to test, tried the domain admin accounts, etc and the same error results. To confirm, the service account is a member of Backup Operators, has Log on as a Batch and Service on the Exchange server and is a member of the Organization Management security group for Exchange Admins. Additionally the account has a mailbox with the same name linked to the account.

This same account can backup the volumes on the server (Drive C) and take a system state backup. Only when selecting the Exchange stores and running the job does this error occur. Within the properties of the job all the creditials report back as fine and "successful" when tested. The job has been deleted and recreated to no effect.

All security events in the eventlog suggest the logon was successful.

We also have another three almost identical domains each with its own Exchange Organization. Two of these Exchange servers backup fine, the other is giving the same error. This job runs as a domain admin and the settings for each domain and account are identical yet only 2 of out 3 servers back up correctly.

Does anyone out there have any idea what I'm supposely missing here??

I beleive you have already referred the following document .http://support.veritas.com/docs/331589
Are you running the backup to tape or backup to disk location ?
If running on Tape did u try running it to disk location ?

Yes I have followed that document.

If it helps our set up is like this:

Forest A has BE server installed
Forest B has Exchange 2010 and the backup works. The creditials are a Domain Admin for Forest B
Forest C has Exchange 2010 and the backup works. Creditials are a DA for Forest C
Forest D has Exchange 2010 and the backup does not work. Forest B-D are very similiar. Creditials are a DA for Forest D. The backup fails within 2-5 secs with the error previously mentioned.
Forest E has Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2010. Backups of 2007 work however on using the same account the backup for 2010 fails with same error. This account is a member of the right Exchange groups.

These jobs fail whether they backup to disk or to tape.

On testing the creditials within the job set up they all report working.

Running a test run is successful.
