You already have a workaround for the same in the link

Workaround:
Run the backup to a backup to disk folder OR turn off Granular Restore Technology for the backup, and use Recovery Storage Groups if the restore of a mail item is needed. (See related documents for more information regarding Recovery Storage Groups)
