Backup Exec fails to connect to remote agent

Icebeard
Not applicable

I get the following error when trying to connect to a remote agent to browse for selection list:

An error was encountered while attempting to browse the contents of <SERVER>

A network connection to the server could not be established.

I have confirmed the agent to be listening on port 10000 and do see traffic exchanged. This agent used to work just fine and stopped a few weeks ago. It's happened before, and a reinstall of the agent has fixed it, but not this time. It's fully patched up to 11d SP3. I ran the SGMon utility and got the following chunk of useful info:

Can anyone throw any light on this? Any help appreciated!

Thanks!

I am having a simular issue.  Seems that I am geting established connections between the media server and the remote agent over various ports from the media server to port 10000 on the remote agent, but for some reason, all my backups fail and when I try to select that server from the backup menu, it either freezes or says that the remote agent cound not be contacted.

I have also this same issue. Did you resolve this issue?

Please check:

If BE Server and remote agent are on the same version, and that the RAWS has been updated after applying hotfixes to the BE server

check that the windows firewall service is not running via "services.msc"

What kind of remote machine are you trying to connect to?
