I'm running Veritas Backup Exec 9.1 and when I run backups I've been receiving a message lately saying:

Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0x79 - The semaphore timeout period has expired.

Final error category: Other Errors

Click an error below to locate it in the job log
Backup - \\SERVER Storage device "QUANTUM 1" reported an error on a request to read data from media.

Error reported:
The semaphore timeout period has expired.

I'm also getting Event Messages: 33152, 57665, 34113

One to note is the 33152 Message.

Adamm Mover Error: Read Failure!
Error = ERROR_SEM_TIMEOUT
Drive = "QUANTUM 1"
{37C27CC8-5ED3-4428-B761-47FD48CF6917}
Media = "Thursday"
{B95CC236-BFB1-4856-8E5C-800C3E94729B}
Read Mode: SingleBlock(0), ScsiPass(0)
Write Mode: SingleBlock(1), ScsiPass(1)

Environment: MS Server 2003 Ent. Edition, Quantum Tape Drive (Passed Diagnostics), SDLT320 Tapes.

Another note: When I change the Label on the media it works after.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Tim
