Backup Job has been failed

Hi,

 

This is Rajeev. this is regarding a backup problem which i am facing from the last two weeks.

 

I have a IBM Tape library TS3200(LTO5) and Symantec BE 2010 R2. LTO5 media(Vendor HP) which supports 1.5 tb of data backup.

I am taking monthly backup on LTO5 tape which supports 1.5 TB of data. The total size of the data is approx 1 TB.

The problem is that backup job has been failed with the error "Device not found"after completing or wrinting data of around 850 GB of data on tape.

The same backup on another set has been failed with the same error after completing 650 GB of data on tape.

I am using software compression and encryption method.

Will you please help me to resolve this issue.

Could you post the exact error message from the job log,

Also check if there are any errors related to hardware in the Windows event viewer.

Open Windows device manager and check if the tape drive and medium changer is listed there.

Run live update and install all the latest patches for Backup Exec.

Install latest Symantec device drivers for the tape drive and Microsoft drivers for the medium changer.

Make sure there are no hard read/write errors on any of the tapes.
