Backup fail with Systemerror e00084f4 - unknown error

Hello,

we have installed Backup Exec 10.0 with IDR-Option on a W2k-Adv-Srv(SP4) (HP Tape Drive "Ulritum LTO1"). When the backup starts immediately reports an error "e00084f4 - unknown error".
The Windows build in backup software works fine with the tape drive.

Any ideas how to fix this problem?

Hi,

Would you please elaborate a little more on this issue. Are you using a Standalone backup device or is this a library ?

Try splitting your backup jobs and if you have more that one servers that need to be backed up, configure separate jobs for each server to isolate the issue.

Try backing up on a Backup-to-Disk Folder and compare the results.

As per our previous reply, marking the case as "assumed answered" and moving it to "answered questions" pool.

I'm having this same issue.

It's on one server, a DAT 72 tape drive, backing up about 20 gigs of data.

Everything was working fine, the only changes I made to the server were
1) Ran the IDR wizard
2) Change the location of a folder in the server.
