Backup jobs get stuck 'running'

I am having a continual problem with my backup.

Every several backups the job gets stucking 'running' at about 50%. Its so stuck, the only way to cancel the job is to stop the service. This happens every few days and can continue inexplicably until it unexplicably starts to work again.

It never crashes at the same place. I ran a defrag on the main servers no effect.

The LTO, scsi card and backupexec are all runing lastest drivers and firmware.

Are there any errors in the event viewer?

I've experienced that problem, but my backups would intermittently stop at about 0.01% of the job. However, I could cancel the job without restarting the services. This occured about once a month for me.

No, nothing at all. From what I can tell its the application that is completely hanging.

Please do elaborate more on what exactly you are backing up.

Is it a remote backup or a local backup?

What is the size of data to be backed up and the version of operating system?

Do revert back with details.
