BackupExec and SharePoint

We just implemented a Sharepoint Services based Extranet server with SQL Server 2005 on the same machine. Do I need both a Sharepoint and a SQL Agent in order to properly backup our data with BackupExec?

We already have a SQL Server Agent for SQL 2000 running on another server. This server will be phased out as soon as everything is moved over to SQL Server 2005. Do I need 2 SQL Agents?

Thanks.

You should only need the Sharepoint Agent. PLEASE Note, that the Sharepoint Agent only works with, "Microsoft Sharepoint 2003 Portal". It does not work with, "Microsoft Sharepoint 2003 Team Services".

Hi,

When these Sharepoint Services runs on Backup Server and no share point server you have in your environment then no need to Sharepoint agent.

Update us on the same and revert for any further Query
Hope this will help you

Thank you
Gauri
