Can not access folders on agent

Running 2012 on a 2008 server, have agent installed on a Win 7 64 bit pro.  Installed agent by the server software by adding a server by the IP address, it installed agent software on the win 7 box.  I have a trust between the two, my credentials are good, but when I set up a backup and go to the server where the agent is at, it only shows the IP address of the PC,  if I click on the check box it quires the pc and come back with nothing.  Even though I check the box it never gets checked.

After hours of Google searching I came up blank, went into the settings for 2012, and checked a box for backing up shares.  Now I can see the folders Is this best practice as the win 7 box with agent on it is nothing more than a big file server   

Spoke to soon,  My credentials work for the main I{, but fails for the folders.

Although it may not be the cause of the problem, did you install a AWS licence on media server for this Win 7 machine?
