Cannot cancel active job

Active job remains in "Cancel Pending" status

Running Windows 2003 Server with Backup Exec 9.1

Can anyone please help with getting this job to cancel?

I do not know if there is a specific BE utility that has the ability to do this other than the services utility under "Tools" and "Backup Exec Services..." From there you could try stopping the services. This may stop your current job but it won't really help you with the bigger issue.
Oh, I suppose you could also restart but I assume this is not an option.

You need to Stop and Start the Backup Exec Services. (From CONTROL PANEL | ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS | SERVICES)

If the Backup Exec services are killed then the tape device will need to be re-enabled in Backup Exec for another backup job to proceed.

I have found that attempting to stop a service invariably takes about half an hour, which will convince you it hasn't worked.

It WILL work, just go have a cup of coffee while you wait.
