DFS Backup stopped working - BE.10, Win2k/SP4

We have a Full and Incremental backup of our DFS that recently stopped working. The DFS is on our Win2K Domain Server but the actual folder and files are on our Procom NAS units running a proprietary OS.

We're getting the following error:
----------------------
Final error: 0xa000846b -
Device could not be backed up because an error occurred while connecting to the Remote Agent for Windows Servers.
Make sure that the Remote Agent for Windows Servers is running on the target computer.
Final error category: Resource Errors
----------------------

We've never used the Remote Agent in the past and the backups have always worked. Nothing has changed on any of the systems; the NAS, the domain server, or the BE server other than the upgrade from BE 9.1 to 10. Coincidentally the backup stopped working before the upgrade to v10.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, that doesn't answer my question. The backup solution was working fine for an 8 month period (when we originally deployed up to when it stopped working). Why would the solution now need an agent to run properly when 1.) it worked before without one, and 2.) the data is on a NAS unit.

thanks.
