We are running Backup Exec 11d (build 7170 + SP3 + hotfixes 47, 48, 51, 53, 59). We did everything recommended by Symantec in order to be able to back up the Exchange 2007 SP1 mail store:
- Created a dedicated account with the proper permissions - Domain Admin; Local Admin on the Exchange Server; Server Admin in the Exchange management console. We even gave the account Send As, Receive As, and Full Access rights on all the mailboxes.
- Made sure the above account had a mailbox, was unhidden in the GAL, and could send and receive emails.
- Installed the Backup Exec remote agent on the Exchange server.
- Installed the MAPI/CDO package on the Exchange server.
- Installed the Exchange 2007 management tools on the Backup Exec server.
- Confirmed that the version of the beclass.dll is 11.0.7170.30, and that the version of ese.dll was 8.1.xx on both servers.
Despite doing all of the above, we still cannot see the Microsoft Information Store of our Exchange 2007 as a selection in our selection list. Have we missed anything? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
