We are considering the purchase of a direct-attached storage (DAS) RAID device, which would be connected to our Backup Exec 11d media server via SCSI. According to the HCL, any disk device "recognized and supported by the Windows platform should work with Backup Exec."
However, other posts on the forum indicate that in the real world, there are problems doing a backup-to-disk of the Exchange 2007 data stores to DAS drives, particularly if using GRT. Has anybody successfully used a setup like this, or know if such a setup is officially supported or not?
