Drive identifies all LTO tapes as Cleaning tape

I have a Dell PV136T tape library having the latest firmware for the library and the tape drives.I am running backupexec 9.1 with sp4a on Win2k Sp4.

When I try to inventory or erase LTO1 tapes and if the tape goes into drive no. 3 it takes a long time to scan the label on the tape. Finally when it completes the operation it marks it as Cleaning tape. The same erase job or an inventory job in another drive takes at the most 2 minutes to complete.

I tried to clean that drive but it throws an error: Physical volume library drive or Robot paused, offline, or disabled and the cleaning job fails.

Any help will be much appreciated.

I found a similar problem.

When doing duplicates or second copies, the tape is shown inside the proper
media set but also inside the cleaning tape set. That prevents tape from becoming usable, again.

I checked the adamm.log and device wizard but I didn't find any abnormal order among the four SDLT devices inside the Tape library

I must say I use BEXEC 10.D, windows 2003 SP1 and a four-tape libraryMessage was edited by:
