Event ID 1004 in benetns.exe

dalge
Level 3

We have been receiving popup errors in Backup Exec during login to our server for a few weeks now. I've done a little research during this time, but just didn't have time until now to really concentrate on this. What happens is during login, we get several popup errors from Backup Exec Agent Browser and that it needed to close errors. I examined the event logs and found the following:

There are several of these events during login. We haven't seen where it is causing problems with our backups, but just a nuisance. This particular server houses several network applications besides Backup Exec. It is the following:

Symantec Endpoint Protection server.

Symantec Endpoint Protection client (only antivirus/antispyware protection )

EventSentry (application to pull thr event log records from all computers in the network)

Spiceworks

I thought at one time that Symantec Endpoint client was the culprit when it had  Network Threat Protection and the Proactive Threat Protection. I removed these and just use the antivirus/antispyware on all our servers. This did not correct it.

Thank you!
