Exceptions when backing up exchange files

I recieve the below exceptions when I run a backup on our sbs 2003 server.
I have veritas backup 9.1installed.

These files belong to our live Exchange server and should be backed up.

Do you have any ideas why they are not and how can i back them up.

Unable to open the item C:\WINDOWS\system32\wins\winstmp.mdb - skipped.

Since Exchange is running, backupexec cannot get exclusive control of the files, so it skips them

You have two choices

1) Shut down Exchange while BackupExec is running (usually not an option)
2) Purchase and install the Exchange Module which, while it will not backup the flat files, will do a database backup of your Exchange Server.

I havent yet purchased the exchenge client but i have discovered that we dont have 1 installed or licensed for.

This fits with your explanation.
