Exchange Backup Files Skipped

Why does the backup software skip the files located in \exchsrvr\mtadata\ ? It says these files are in use. I always make sure that all PC's at night are turned off to avoid any skipped files. Do you really need to backup the Micosoft MTA data? Looking on the knowledge base I have yet to find a solution to this problem.

Any thoughts on this?

The files are inuse because the ExchangeServices are running. As lon as you use the agent and get a successful stores backup, you'll be covered. also see http://support.veritas.com/docs/259152


Even if the services are shut down, BackupExec will skip these files due to "Active File Exclusions" see http://support.veritas.com/docs/259152
