Exchange Backup - Mailbox Store Corrupt File

Hi there,

We are running Windows 2000 SBS with Veritas 8.6 SBS.

About two weeks ago we started getting the following message in our Exchange logs;

Access denied to database .
^ ^ ^ ^ ^
WARNING: "Mailbox Store (SERVER)" is a corrupt file.
This file cannot verify.
^ ^ ^ ^ ^

All service account and passwords have not been changed nor expired.

Anyone able to lead me in the right direction?

I know if you look through some of the articles, I have seen that error listed in them (i don't know the specific articles, but should be easy to search for).

Are you backing up individual mailboxes or the entire information store? If you are doing individual mailboxes, that may be a deleted users mailbox that gives that error. Exchange will keep mailboxes after user accounts ar removed for a default time (I think 30 days).

Thanks for the response.

The mailboxes of the disabled accounts are not being backed up as part of the selection list.

We are backing up individual mailboxes and the entire information store.

Unfortunately there have been no deleted users in the last 30days.

Any other help would be much apprecaited.
