Exist a Exec Backup without Agent of SQL? Only for backups of files in LTO tapes.

BE does not come with an agent for SQL.  You have to purchase an additional licence if you want to backup SQL databases.  BE will backup to LTO tapes, provided the tape drive is supported.

Then what is " Microsoft SQL Express"?

SQL Server 2005 Express Edition is the next version of MSDE and is a free, easy-to-use, lightweight, and embeddable version of SQL Server 2005. Backup Exec uses the sql express edition for its database to get stored.

If you want to backup a remote sql server then you have to have a sql license to backup the sql server. But if you just want to backup the backup exec database then you can do following steps:

1> stop all the Be services and sqlserver(bkupexec)
2> Take a copy of data and catalog folder
3> In case of disaster you can always restore these folders to get your jobs back
4> Once done start the Be services and sql service

BE needs a database to store its information.  BE comes with a copy Microsoft SQL Express.   You do not have to pay to use the Microsoft SQL Express.  It is included in the price of BE.
