Hi, I've recently just upgraded to BE 10.0. I've been getting this error in my backup log. V-79-57344-65033 - Directory not found. When I do a brick level backup of all mailboxes, the backup will log this error for one mailbox on 27 of her folders. I've check her mailbox and all folders are there but somehow Backup Exec is not able to back them up. Please help!!

In view of the query put forward, we would like you to refer the following technote:-

Title:- A backup operation fails with the error message: "Directory not found. Can not back up directory <\directory> and its subdirectories" or "The directory is invalid."
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/207001.htm

As an additional option.
1) Create a New job and observe the result.
2) Refer the following steps mentioned in the technote link.

Title:- "Directory not found" errors when performing Concurrent Individual Mailbox Backups using the Exchange option for Backup Exec http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/248691.htm

We hope this helps. Let us know if the problem still exists and revert back with the error message.

You technote 207001doesn't help because I do want to backup those folders. She is an active user. I've check and those folders does exist in her mailbox and I do want to back them up. However, somehow, Backup exec is not seeing them.

Your technote 248691 doesn't apply here because I'm not using Concurrent Individual Mailbox Backups. I'm only doing regular full backup using a single drive. It's strange that it only happens to one user.

I already tried recreating the job and it doesn't help. Same thing happens.

Any other ideas?

In addition to my comments above, I just went and counted the number of folders she has under her mailbox. She has 545 folders under her mailbox. She created all 545 as top level folder (same level as "Inbox", "Deleted Items" and "Sent Items"). Is there a limit on the nubmer of folders that Backup Exec can handle? If yes, how many and at what level?

Thanks

Hi Kit,

Is there a default limit you have set on the number of folders that can be opened by a MAPI Client in the Exchange environment? You might want to take a look at these documents:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;830829

The following are as additional info:

Hope that helps!
