Wanted to let you know that the latest Hotfix 199866 causes Error: "LU1812: An update failed to install. A program that was part of this update failed . . . " when running LiveUpdate in Backup Exec 2012
(Server: "xxxx-01") (Job: "xxxx-02 Data Backup-Daily Incremental Accounting Data Backup") xxxx-02 Data Backup-Daily Incremental Accounting Data Backup -- The job failed with the following error: The Backup Exec job engine system service is not responding.
Anyone else experiencing the same problem?
Guess will wait for an update.

What I would like to perform is just a manual install. Live update is really easy to perform swift updates, but it does not provide the necessary detail in case of an error.
You can download the hotfix directly, execute it as a standalone exe. Normally it will provide more details.
Have you already investigated the Windows Event Log? Are there any errors there?
