Hello,
While installing Backup Exec 10.1 in an existing SQL instance, the SQL database has to be SQL 2000 SP4 a and later. SQL 2005 is not compatible for INSTALLATION of backup exec, although it can be BCAKED up after applying hotfix 6 in the following technote:http://support.veritas.com/docs/276497
