How to alert user to insert tape into Backup tape drive

Hello

Hello I have a problem with some of my customers. I have created the job to start backup everyday at 23hr. I am doing everydays backup to a separate tape, and overwrite data every week. After job completed the tape is ejected automatically. User knows, that he must to take ejected tape ant to insert another tape every morning or any time before 23hr. The problem is that user forgets to insert the tape and job is waiting for tape all the night. How to make a notification for a user to insert the tape before the job starts if there is no tape in the drive?

Don't think that you can do this in BackupExec

If they use Outlook, you can set up a reminder for Mon-Fri 1600 (or what ever is appropriate

Or you could use Windows Scheduler with the msg command.  Do "msg /?"  to see the options

Hi ,

You can enable alerts in Backup Exec.

Open Backup exec.

Click on tools --> Alert Categiries

Select Media Insert and enter the recepients name

We are running an inventory job for media daily before the actuqal job starts. 

I think this will be the better way to know.
