Just wondering if someone can tell me How to run multiple backups at the same time on the same media server. Currently I have 3 scheduled jobs, but one will not start until the other finishes the job.

Thanks!!

Each tape drive can accept only 1 job at a time. Autoloaders with two tape drives can run 2, etc. Backup-to-disk folders can accept as many as you allow. Check the properties for the backup-to-disk folder and specify the number of concurrent operations on the advanced tab.

Hello,

It seems you need to run multiple jobs on the same media server at the same time. This can be done. You can run concurrent jobs on the same backup to disk folder too as mentioned in the previos post. To run jobs on tape, refer to the following technotes:

Title:How to run concurrent backup jobs with Backup Exec for Windows Servers
http://support.veritas.com/docs/245451

In case of a library, check the following technote:

Title: How to run concurrent jobs using a library in Backup Exec 9.x and 10.0 for Windows Servers
http://support.veritas.com/docs/262876

Hope this information helps. In case you have some more doubts, do write back to the forum. However in case we do not receive your update within two business days, this post would be marked ‘assumed answered’ and would be moved to ‘answered questions’ pool.
